I don’t like going to the ER and when my husband was here in late 2020 it was amazing and the staff was amazing! Fast forward to today. I went to urgent care hoping my issue could be taken care of there. The minute I said chest pain they sent me to the ER. I walked in and the waiting room was not too bad. I got registered then sat down to wait. They called my name for a urine sample then back to the waiting room. Then they called me for a chest xray, then back to the waiting room, then they called me for an EKG then back to the waiting room, then blood work and back to the waiting room. Then they finally took me back to sit on a gurney in the hallway which is where I was treated by a great Doctor but the lady next to me knew everything that was wrong with me and vice versa! The saving grace! PAUL my nurse! He was caring and compassionate and even made me laugh at a moment I did not want to laugh! Thank you to Paul I even gave this review three! Outside of my amazing Nurse, the ER system is definitely broken! Understanding that Sarasota is growing there needs to be a plan in place or people will start traveling outside of their comfort zone to another facility! I felt like I was in

Our experience at Sarasota Memorial Hospital was outstanding from start to finish. My boyfriend recently underwent a cardiac ablation, and understandably, we were both feeling very anxious. From the moment we checked in, every single person we encountered treated us with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. The customer service, quality of the medical staff, and the overall hospital experience exceeded our expectations. As his partner, I especially appreciated how well the hospital cared for family members too. I was personally escorted to the waiting room so I knew exactly where to go, and there was a monitor that allowed me to track his progress throughout the procedure, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. After his procedure, I had one of those stressful moments where I couldn't remember how to get back to the parking garage. That's when Shantrill stepped in. She saw that I was lost and immediately went out of her way to help. She walked me to the correct elevator, made sure I got off on the right floor, stayed with me until I found my car, and clearly explained where I needed to pick up my boyfriend afterward. I am 30 weeks pregnant, and I experienced horrible cramping and severe pulling pain on the right side of my stomach. The pain was so intense I could barely move. My husband dropped me off at the emergency room at MANATEE MEMORIAL while he parked the car. As I walked into the ER, a staff member asked why I was there. I told him I was 30 weeks pregnant and in severe pain. He called Labor & Delivery and then asked if I could walk there. I said, “If I have to, no problem. I just want to make sure my baby and I are okay.” He then told me Labor & Delivery said there would be a wait and asked if that was okay. I replied, “No problem. I just want to make sure we’re okay.” He hung up the phone and asked a nurse if she could show me where Labor & Delivery was. The nurse asked, “What did the department you just called say?” and then said they were busy. A few moments later, another nurse came in from outside pushing a woman in a wheelchair. He asked if she could help me get to Labor & Delivery. She responded, “Does she have an appointment?” I was coming to the emergency room because I was in severe pain why would I have an appointment? I went in for a prostate biopsy June 19, 2026, and the prescreen (blood test, lengthy interview with nurse) on June 5. My experience was overwhelming positive. There are a ton of friendly staff, no waiting, updated facility. They are very thorough! Self parking is a PIA as you have to go to level 5 in the garage, though valet parking out front is free. Pickup is a little weird as they had my wife park in the first level of the parking garage, but no mix ups and they wheeled and walked me over.

I was having heat problems. I was referred here by the clinic in Bradenton. I found the environment to be very good. Staff is very attentive and caring. Much better staffed than Cleveland clinic. The best hospital I have experienced. Much better than Blake which is closer to me. Well worth the extra drive.
